Hollis Seniors meet every Thursday at the Lawrence Barn Community Center.  Gathering starts at 11 AM and Meals on Wheels is usually brought in at noon.  A program usually follows the meal or members stay and socialize, playing games of their choice.

We had a wonderful summer!   We had our summer picnic that was well attended.  Then we had various outings to included going to several restaurants and enjoying great lunches.  We also had several presentations to include demonstrations by seeing-eye dogs and entertainment by the “Boot-Scootin’ Boomers” at our annual picnic.  Additionally, we had a guided and “tasting” tour of the Fulchino Vineyard.  We even celebrated Jimmy Buffet day with our own “Seniorita-ville” outing.  And we got some great publicity from the local papers that I hope you all saw.  As you see, the Hollis Seniors had an active and informative summer.  For those of you that didn’t make these events, check our web site for pictures of the summer activities.  Now on to the Fall season.

General:

1.      The Hollis Seniors now have a gateway to post cancellations on WMUR TV, airing 15 and 45 minutes past the hour on Channel 9.  If the weather looks bad, check Channel 9

2.      We have a business meeting the last Thursday of every month (except Thanksgiving).  Be sure to attend. 

3.      The SVTC bus service is off to a good start.  If you have any questions, give Jim Belanger a call at 465-2301 or call Nashua transportation at 880-0100 Ext 1.  And you can visit the SVTC web site at www.SouheganRides.org. 

Other Senior Activities of interest.

1.      How about a Fall trip?

2.      How about a trip to the NH State House to see and hear our State Reps at work? 

3.      How about some more “show and tells”?

4.      How about having a TV weather person come and speak to us?

5.      We are going to investigate the possibility of combining some future events with the Nashua Seniors group.
