During the past month, the HBHS “Interact” group participated in some of our games and the stakes were high (see photo).   We also had a visit from the Hollis Fire Department, where they explained the necessity for smoke/fire and carbon monoxide detectors.  In fact they recommend smoke/fire detectors that are “dual” capable (ion and photo) and CO detectors that have digital displays.  They also reminded everyone to change the batteries in detectors every 6 months.

General:

1. The Hollis Seniors now have a gateway to post meeting cancellations on WMUR TV, airing 15 min and 45 min past the hour on Ch 9.

2. The Actor Singers of Nashua are putting on “Beauty and the Beast” at the Elm Street School on May 2, 3, 4, 9 and 10.  Hollis Seniors can get a block of tickets for 4 May, at 2PM, at a cost of $12.00 each if we can get 10 or more people to go.  See Jean.

3. Remember: if you need assistance getting out, call a fellow “senior” to see if they can help. 

4. A transportation committee is being set up by the Hollis Selectmen and they are looking for volunteers to study need, cost, and availability of providing transportation to Drs, and other key appointments for people in need.  As of this newsletter, it looks like we have 5 members and 2 alternates that are being nominated to the Hollis Selectmen. 

5. Future:  our last Meals on Wheels will be 12 Jun 08

6. Future:  out annual picnic is planned for 19 Jun 08, here at the barn.  More information to follow.
