Hollis
Seniors meet every Thursday at the Lawrence Barn Community Center. Gathering
starts at 11 AM and Meals on Wheels is usually brought in at noon. A program
usually follows the meal or members stay and socialize, playing games of their
choice.

Even with all the snow, we had a great
February. We had several programs including a very detailed “quilt show”
presented by our own Nancy Bell, a “Quilt Master.”
Take a look at our
web site to see some great quilts all done by Nancy. Such talent.
We are investigating the various trips that can
be taken with Curmudgeon & Friends, a small bus-tour company. And our program
director (Nancy Bell) has already schedule a trip to the Chocolate Factory in
Manchester, with lunch and chocolates included. Please contact Nancy if you
want to attend this trip in May.
Just a reminder that “dues are due.” Please
see Sandy Belanger to pay your membership dues and see Bob Fiero to update your
personal data.
And say “hi” to the following new members:

3 Mar: MOW + Blood Pressure+ Movie: “The “Blind Side”

10 Mar: MOW + talk by Dr. Belanger (our Veterinarian) on taking care
of our pets during the winter months.

15 Mar: School lunch at the HBMS.

17 Mar: MOW + Madelyn Monahan will present her “bio.”

24 Mar: MOW + presentation by Bill Defeo on “clocks and their inner
workings.”

General:
1.
The Hollis Seniors now have a gateway to post cancellations on WMUR
TV, airing 15 and 45 minutes past the hour on Channel 9. If the weather
looks bad, check Channel 9 and the Hollis Channel 12.
2.
We have a business meeting the last Thursday of every month (except
Thanksgiving). Be sure to attend.
3.
The SVTC bus service is off to a good start. If you have any
questions, call Nashua transportation at 880-0100 Ext 1. And you can visit
the SVTC web site at
www.SouheganRides.org.
Future Senior Activities of interest.
1.
A trip to the Chocolate Factory in Manchester, in May 2011. See
Nancy Bell for specifics.
2.
Stay tuned for an upcoming “cooking demonstration” to be held at the
“Barn.”
3.
How about a trip to the NH State House to see and hear our State Reps
at work? (We now have one of our own as a State Representative)
4.
How about having a TV weather person come and speak to us?
5.
We are going to investigate the possibility of combining some future
events with the Nashua Seniors group.
6.
Look into upcoming classes at RISE. Some great programs will be
offered.
7.
Check out the Hollis Library for upcoming seminars on subjects of
“senior interest.”
8.
Curmudgeon & Friends has a small bus (about 14 riders) and has
numerous trips planned from March thru May. Flyers will be posted at the
“BARN” or you can contact Honi or Nancy directly. You can even call Jay
(Curmudgeon & Friends) directly at: 603-883-5017.
9.
Our summer picnic is scheduled for 23 June 2011.
